Product overviewThe KE SIL2 is a melt/high-temperature pressure sensor designed for process applications up to 538°C (1000°F). It features a NAK (sodium-potassium) hydraulic pressure transmission for stable transfer at elevated temperatures and a thick-film extensimetric sensing element providing a standard 4...20 mA output. A SIL2-certified variant is available for Functional Safety requirements in polymer and engineered-plastics production.
Main features- Output signal: 4...20 mA (standard)
- Pressure ranges: 0-35 to 0-1000 bar (0-500 to 0-15000 psi)
- Accuracy classes: < ±0.25% FS (H); < ±0.5% FS (M)
- Hydraulic transmission using NAK (sodium-potassium) fluid for high-temperature stability; transmission liquid RoHS compliant
- SIL2-certified version available for Functional Safety applications
- Standard process threads: 1/2-20 UNF, M18x1.5 (other threads on request)
- Autozero: on-board or external (external = E)
- Stem drift autocompensation available (SP version)
- Diaphragm options and temperature limits: Inconel 718 + GTP+ (up to 538°C / 1000°F); 15-5 PH + GTP+ (up to 400°C / 750°F); Hastelloy C276 (up to 300°C / 570°F); 17-7 PH corrugated + GTP+ (for ranges <100 bar up to 400°C)
- Stem material: 17-4 PH
- Technology: thick-film extensimetric sensing element for stable pressure-to-signal conversion
ApplicationsEngineered for melt and high-temperature processes such as polymer extrusion, compounding and production of high-temperature engineered plastics where thermal stability and SIL2 functional safety are required.
