Description

Overview
The ME SIL2 is a pressure transmitter designed for high-temperature melt and process applications. It uses a fluid-filled (mercury option) hydraulic transmission to transfer pressure to a thick-film strain-gauge sensing element, enabling reliable measurement at media temperatures up to 400°C. A SIL2-certified variant is available for Functional Safety applications in process plants.

Main features
  • Pressure ranges: from 0-17 to 0-2000 bar (0-250 to 0-30000 psi equivalents)
  • Accuracy classes: < ±0.25% FS (H); < ±0.5% FS (M)
  • Fluid-filled system (mercury option) for enhanced temperature stability
  • SIL2 certification for Functional Safety applications
  • Standard output: 4…20 mA (E option)
  • Standard process connections: 1/2-20 UNF and M18x1.5 (other threads on request)
  • Autozero: on-board or external option; Drift autocompensation available (SP version)
  • Standard diaphragm: 15-5 PH stainless steel with GTP+ coating; 17-7 PH corrugated diaphragm with GTP+ coating available for lower ranges (<100 bar / 1500 psi)
  • Mechanical/configurable options: rigid or rigid+flexible stems, thermocouple option, exposed capillary variants, multiple stem lengths
  • Connector options: 6‑pin, 8‑pin and other electrical interfaces configurable

Applications
  • High-temperature melt/process measurements (media temperature up to 400°C)
  • Polymer production and melt processing plants
  • Process installations requiring safety-rated pressure measurement (SIL2)
  • Any application demanding thermal stability of the pressure sensor in hot media

Technical specifications
  • Measuring principle: hydraulic transmission (fluid-filled) to thick-film strain-gauge sensing element
  • Media temperature capability: up to 400 °C
  • Pressure range examples/codes: B17U (17 bar), B35U (35 bar), B05D (50 bar), B01C (100 bar), B02C (200 bar), B35D (350 bar), B05C (500 bar), B07C (700 bar), B01M (1000 bar), B14C (1400 bar), B02M (2000 bar); psi equivalents available (e.g. P25D 250 psi … P30M 30000 psi)
  • Accuracy: < ±0.25% FS (H grade); < ±0.5% FS (M grade)
  • Output signal: 4…20 mA (standard for ME SIL2 configuration)
  • Functional safety: SIL2 certified versions available
  • Thread options: standard 1/2-20 UNF or M18x1.5; other thread types on request
  • Diaphragm materials/coatings: 15-5 PH SS + GTP+ (standard); 17-7 PH corrugated + GTP+ for some lower ranges
  • Available options: Autozero (on-board or external), Drift Autocompensation (SP version), rigid/rigid+flexible stems, thermocouple option, exposed capillary variants, connector choices (6‑pin, 8‑pin), multiple stem lengths
  • Ordering: product codes describe range, accuracy, output, SIL2, autozero and connector/thread options (refer to datasheet for full coding)
