Product overviewThe Gefran HME series are mercury-filled melt pressure transmitters designed for high-temperature melt pressure measurement. They feature HART communication, support media temperatures up to 400°C and are intended for large fixed industrial installations (e.g. extruders) and laboratory B2B R&D equipment.
Main features- Mercury-filled hydraulic transmission; HART communication; safety levels SIL2 and PLd (model dependent)
- Pressure ranges: 0–17 to 0–2000 bar (0–250 to 0–30000 psi)
- Accuracy: < ±0.25% FS (H); < ±0.5% FS (M)
- Media temperature capability up to 400°C
Functional and mechanical details- Measurement principle: hydraulic transmission to a diaphragm and strain-gauge (bridge) conversion to electrical signal
- Standard threads: 1/2-20 UNF, M18x1.5 (others on request)
- Mercury fill volumes: HME0 = 30 mm³; HME1/HME2/HME3 = 40 mm³
- Standard diaphragm: 15-5 PH stainless steel with GTP+ coating; optional 17-7 PH corrugated diaphragm for ranges below 100 bar
- Autozero: onboard or external option
ApplicationsDesigned for melt pressure measurement in high-temperature polymer processing (extrusion) and for fixed industrial installations and laboratory R&D where temperature stability and accurate melt pressure readings are required.
