OverviewThe HIX series are IMPACT technology pressure transmitters without transmission fluid, engineered for high-temperature melt and process applications up to 350°C. The process pressure is transferred through a thick process membrane directly to a silicon micromachined sensing element, enabling robust mechanical design while preserving high measurement performance.
Main features- "Fluid-free" design—no filling fluids between process and sensor
- Measuring ranges: 0–10 to 0–1000 bar (0–150 to 0–15,000 psi)
- Accuracy classes: < ±0.25% FS (H) and < ±0.5% FS (M)
- Digital interface options: Smart / HART
- Process temperature rating up to 350°C
Technology and benefitsIMPACT technology places a silicon micromachined sensing element directly behind a high‑thickness process membrane. The element requires minimal deflection, allowing a process membrane ~15× thicker than traditional melt sensors. This construction improves mechanical strength, resistance to aggressive media and stability in extreme thermal conditions—reducing downtime and maintenance needs in industrial processes.
Certifications and functional safetyThe HIX series is available with ATEX and IECEx hazardous-area approvals and carries SIL2 and PLd functional safety certifications, supporting installation in safety-related loops and regulated environments.
