Description

Overview
The W7 SIL2 pressure transmitter by Gefran is designed for high-temperature melt applications. It uses a diathermic oil-filled hydraulic transmission to transfer pressure to a thick-film strain-gauge sensor, enabling stable measurements for media temperatures up to 315°C. The SIL2-certified variant is intended for safety-related process installations.

Detailed description
The W7 principle is hydraulic transmission: pressure from the measured medium is conveyed through an incompressible fluid to the sensing element, isolating the sensor from high temperatures and ensuring stable response. Thick-film strain-gauge transduction provides a stable electrical output. SIL2 versions include design and verification provisions to meet functional safety requirements in process plants such as polymer production.
