An Impulse Withstand Generator (IWG) is a specialized electrical testing device designed to evaluate the insulation strength of electrical equipment and components under high-voltage conditions. This generator simulates the transient overvoltages that electrical systems may encounter during lightning strikes or switching operations, allowing engineers to assess the durability and reliability of insulation materials.
HZ2511 is an intelligent control tester designed to verify electrical clearance, creepage (leakage) distance and other insulation properties of electrical relays.
I. Preface
- Do not disassemble the instrument. The internal parts cannot be replaced by the user.
- Do not turn on or operate the instrument in the event of explosion risk.
- The instrument shall be used in a dry room. If condensate is found, please dry the generator before using it.
- Before using this instrument, please make sure the wiring (connection) is correct.
- When the instrument is in use, there will be dangerous power supply voltage or high voltage inside the instrument and panel socket. Direct or indirect contact through wet object will bring fatal danger.
- When connecting, or removing any test lead/ line, please make sure the instrument has stopped running.
- The power switch must be turned off before installing or removing the power cord.
- To ensure safe operation of the instrument, when the fuse on the instrument is blown, please replace it with a fuse of the same type and specification.
Standard: IEC 60255-5: Electrical relays Part5: Insulation tests for electrical relays
II. Features of Impulse Withstand Generator
- Adopt the programmable control technology to enable the control system to achieve ultra-compact and high-reliability intelligent automatic control and measurement
- The key components adopt high quality imported components, quality assurance, stable and reliable output
- The operation interface uses a 7.0-inch large LCD touch screen for flexible programming. The interface remembers the status and settings of current test. The test that has been paused can be continued with the previous settings.
III. Technical Data
- Voltage polarity: positive, negative, positive first then negative, negative first then positive
- Test voltage: 500~12000V ±10%
- Voltage waveform: 1.2±30% 50±20% μs
- Output impedance: 500Ω (±10%)
- Time interval: 3~9999S
- Number of tests: 1~9999 times
IV. Maintenance
- If the instrument is not used for a long time, it needs to be regularly dusted and electrified to ensure the normal work of the device.
- When touching the LCD screen, do not use a sharp object or too much force to prevent the LCD screen from damaging or reducing its service life.
- The instrument shall be regularly sent to relevant metrology institute for inspection and calibration.
