OverviewA pilot lab plant is a small-scale system operated to evaluate process behavior before scale-up to industrial production. It can also serve as a small production unit for applications such as bio-ethanol distillation.
Characteristics of KIRIYAMA LABO PLANTSKIRIYAMA LABO PLANTS are designed from user proposals and KIRIYAMA’s manufacturing experience to deliver customizable configurations and safe operation for experimental and pilot processes. Partial design changes during fabrication are supported, and KIRIYAMA conducts assembly and acceptance tests with the user. The control philosophy minimizes electronic automation to reduce cost; manual control enables faster shutdown in emergencies.
Joint design and mechanical strengthBecause lab plants are larger than standard laboratory glassware, KIRIYAMA uses special joint clamps with thick end lips. Sealing is provided by PTFE rings and clamping rings are lightweight aluminum to avoid glass damage. A 2–3° taper between joint faces and PTFE rings eases assembly and provides seismic resilience through flexible joints.
Support frameSupport structures use channel-shaped sections and stainless-steel tubing to provide high strength and stable mounting.
