TFF OverviewTangential flow filtration (TFF), or cross-flow filtration, maintains flow parallel to the membrane surface to limit cake formation and stabilize flux. TFF covers microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) depending on target particle or molecule size. The technology is widely used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food & beverage and environmental applications.
System overviewThe BIO-TFF01 is a compact bench-top TFF unit developed for laboratory and pilot-scale processes. It accepts box-type flat membrane packs (0.1 m²) and supports microfiltration and ultrafiltration workflows for sample clarification, concentration and diafiltration.
System applications- Cell clarification and cell fluid filtration
- Concentration and recovery of antibodies and recombinant proteins
- Protein, peptide and nucleic acid (DNA/RNA/oligonucleotide) concentration and desalting
- Removal of small impurities from water, buffers and media; continuous diafiltration/equal-volume exchange
System features- High recovery rates while preserving biological activity
- Stable permeate flux with reduced gel/cake layer formation
- Linear scale-up path from laboratory to larger production
