Short descriptionThis bench-top MINI ceramic membrane filtration unit (model MCS-Mini) is designed for laboratory-scale separation by microfiltration, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration. Membranes are selected according to target molecular weight or particle size to support research, development and small-batch processing while overcoming the footprint and capacity limits of larger ceramic membrane systems.
Process principleCeramic membrane separation uses cross-flow filtration: feed flows longitudinally through tubular ceramic elements while permeate (small molecules) is driven through the membrane under transmembrane pressure and retained concentrate (macromolecules/particles) is discharged. This enables separation, concentration and clarification in a continuous cross-flow mode.
Features- Suitable for high-temperature operation and steam sterilization; chemically stable
- High mechanical strength with wide pH tolerance (0–14); resistant to acids, alkalis, many organic solvents and oxidants
- Long service life and competitive lifecycle cost
- High concentration factors to reduce water consumption and effluent volume
- Membrane modules compatible with high-temperature steam sterilization for aseptic applications
