Description

Short description
Ceramic membrane experiment device MCS-05 is a pilot tubular ceramic membrane filtration unit designed for microfiltration, ultrafiltration and fine ultrafiltration. Membrane pore sizes and molecular weight cut-offs are selectable to separate particles from 1.4 µm down to ~1 kDa. The unit offers simple, flexible operation and easy cleaning for laboratory and small-scale production testing.

Process principle
Ceramic membrane filtration uses a cross-flow filtration mode. Feed flows at high velocity inside the tubular membrane; permeate containing low-molecular components passes through the membrane under transmembrane pressure, while retained concentrate containing macromolecules is discharged, enabling separation, concentration and purification.

Features
  • High temperature tolerance — suitable for elevated-temperature processes; chemically stable
  • High mechanical strength and wide pH tolerance — acid and alkali resistant; resistant to organic solvents and strong oxidants
  • Long service life — low total equipment cost and good cost-performance ratio
  • High concentration factors — reduces water consumption and wastewater discharge
  • Membrane modules sterilizable with high-temperature steam — suitable for sterilizing filtration

Standard membrane length specifications
  • Φ10 mm: 250 / 600 / 1201 mm
  • Φ20 mm: 1178 mm
  • Φ25 mm: 580 / 1178 mm
  • Φ41 mm: 1020 mm

Membrane molecular weight / pore size
Fine ultrafiltration | Ultrafiltration | Microfiltration
1 kg/mol | 15 kg/mol | 0.14 µm
3 kg/mol | 50 kg/mol | 0.20 µm
5 kg/mol | 150 kg/mol | 0.30 µm
8 kg/mol | 300 kg/mol | 0.45 µm
(additional microfiltration sizes) | | 0.80 µm
| | 1.4 µm

Membrane element & application
The tubular ceramic membrane (original imported) is manufactured from high-purity materials. Tubular ceramic membranes cover microfiltration, ultrafiltration and fine ultrafiltration ranges; membrane choice depends on the required separation range and target molecular weight or particle size.
