The UTMACH Single Shaft Shredder is an industrial size-reduction machine designed to shred a wide range of solid materials, including plastics, wood, rubber, paper, textiles and other suitable industrial waste.
The machine uses a rotating rotor fitted with cutting knives that work against stationary counter knives to shear and shred the material. A screen beneath the rotor controls the discharge size. Material that does not pass through the screen remains in the cutting chamber for further shredding until it reaches the required size.
UTMACH offers single shaft shredders in different configurations to suit specific material characteristics, feed dimensions, processing capacities and output requirements. Customized feeding systems, cutting configurations, screens and auxiliary equipment can be considered according to the application.
Working Principle
A single shaft shredder typically consists of a machine frame, feeding system, rotor shaft, rotating knives, stationary counter knives, screen, drive system and control system.
During operation, the motor drives the rotor through a gearbox. As the material enters the shredding chamber, the rotating knives work against the counter knives to progressively shear and tear it into smaller pieces.
Material small enough to pass through the screen is discharged, while oversized pieces remain in the chamber for further shredding. Actual output size and throughput depend on the material properties, moisture content, feed size, knife configuration, screen aperture and operating conditions.
