Overview
Fullauto StrainEye LSM-9002S is a fully automatic 2D measuring device for retardation values and slow-axis direction in transparent samples exhibiting strain and birefringence. With a 6× optical zoom and a built-in CCD camera that measures every pixel across the detecting area, the instrument provides immediate 2D displays of retardation and slow axis for rapid inspection and analysis.

Background and advantages
The system replaces manual polariscope (Senarmont) observations and semi-automatic Senarmont setups by removing operator-dependent brightness decisions and skill variability. By performing per-pixel measurement across the whole detection field rather than sampling a single point, it delivers consistent, reproducible results. The 6× zoom enables inspection of small samples with a configurable measurement area from 60 × 60 mm down to 10 × 10 mm.
