Description

Overview
Our EA modules are designed for building automation, industrial automation and infrastructure applications. Available in widths of 4, 8 or 12 TE (depending on the total number of I/Os), these I/O modules fit standard control cabinets and are compatible with a 45 mm cut-out for standard enclosures.

Protocols & Interfaces
Supported interfaces and protocols:
  • RS485: ASCII + MODBUS/RTU (Slave)
  • Ethernet: ASCII + MODBUS/TCP (Server) and MODBUS/RTU over Ethernet

Configuration
Free RESIConfigurator software is available for commissioning and parameterization. Each product includes a complete ASCII command list and a MODBUS register map with detailed explanations.

Analog & Digital Functions (product family)
The product family includes EA modules with digital inputs, digital outputs and universal analog inputs or outputs. Flagship modules allow a different function per channel (channel-specific):
  • Analog input: 0/2–10 V or 0/4–20 mA
  • Analog output: 0/2–10 V or 0/4–20 mA
  • Resistance input: 0–1 MΩ
  • RTD inputs: PT100, PT1000, NI1000 (DIN43760)
  • Digital input: dry contact or 24 V DC

Digital I/O and Outputs
Digital inputs are designed for DC signals up to 48 V DC. Digital outputs are rated for DC signals up to 30 V. I/O modules provide groups of outputs with independent supply (for example combined 12 V and 24 V outputs on a single module).

Diagnostics & Current Capacity
EA modules with up to 700 mA output current per channel provide extensive diagnostic functions (detection of thermal overload, short circuit, open line, overcurrent conditions). Outputs are short-circuit proof. RESI-Lxxx products offer up to 350 mA output current per channel with reduced diagnostic functions and a lower cost.

Variants / Selectable Configurations
Example options (excerpt):
  • EAs interfaces: RS485: ASCII+MODBUS/RTU Slave protocol or Ethernet: ASCII+MODBUS/TCP Server protocol
  • EAs analog: 4xAIOX, 8xAIOX, 16xAIOX (universal analog inputs or outputs: 0/2–10 V, 0/4–20 mA, RTD, DI)
  • EAs digital: e.g. 6xDE+6xDA (≤30 V DC, ≤700 mA) — other combinations: 16xDE+15xDA, 32xDE+30xDA, 64xDE+60xDA, 70xDE+66xDA etc.

Integration / Use
Modules can be operated with media control systems or IoT controllers using Node-RED, NodeJs or Python. Wide-range power supply: 12–48 V DC.
