Product overview
The Wind Direction Sensor 3S-WD-MB-A measures horizontal wind direction in degrees (0–359°) using a vane-driven Hall effect position sensor. It provides Modbus RTU output over RS485 and is supplied with mounting accessories and a UV- and weather-resistant cable. Typical applications include PV plant monitoring, warranty documentation after wind-related damage and site performance analysis where wind direction variability is relevant.

Operation and features
The vane-driven Hall effect position sensor converts angular changes into a digital signal for reliable integration. Digital Modbus RTU output (RS485) enables straightforward connection to SCADA, dataloggers, inverters and other industrial monitoring equipment. The housing is anodized aluminium with seawater resistance for outdoor durability. Supplied cable is UV- and weather-resistant.
