Description

Product overview
The Wind Direction Sensor 3S-WD-MB-A is a professional meteorological instrument for measuring horizontal wind direction in degrees. The sensor comprises a body and a vane and is designed for integration with monitoring systems in industrial and environmental applications, including photovoltaic plants. It is supplied with mounting options and cable.

Operation and design
A vane-driven Hall Effect position sensor detects changes in wind direction and converts them into an electrical signal. The anodized aluminium housing provides resistance to outdoor conditions and seawater. Measured values are transmitted over an RS485 interface using the Modbus RTU protocol for compatibility with dataloggers, SCADA and monitoring devices.

Installation
Verify installation at ground level before final mounting. The sensor follows a Plug & Run concept to simplify setup and reduce installation errors. Two mounting options are available:
  • Pipe mounting
  • Ground mounting

Benefits
  • High measurement accuracy and low variation for reliable wind direction data
  • Durable anodized aluminium housing for outdoor use
  • Low maintenance design suitable for long-term monitoring
  • Designed for integration with SCADA, dataloggers and inverters
  • Available cable and mounting options for flexible installation
