The Wind Direction Sensor 3S-WD-A is a professional meteorological instrument designed to measure horizontal wind direction. It uses a vane‑driven Hall‑effect position sensor and provides an analog output (0–3.3 V). The unit can be connected to SEVEN irradiance sensors, sensor boxes and compact weather stations via a pin connector.

For photovoltaic plants and industrial sites, wind direction affects convective heat transfer and module performance. Wind characteristics vary with site and orientation; measuring direction supports assessment of site behaviour under different conditions and helps optimise layout and monitoring.

Installation
Verify operation at ground level before final mounting to ensure all parts function correctly. The Plug & Run connector simplifies commissioning and reduces wiring errors. Two mounting options are provided:
