Product Overview
The 3S-WD-A Wind Direction Sensor is a professional meteorological instrument for measuring horizontal wind direction. It uses a vane-driven Hall Effect position sensor and provides an analog output (0–3.3 V). The sensor can be connected to SEVEN’s irradiance sensors, sensor boxes and compact weather stations via a pin connector.

For photovoltaic and industrial sites, wind direction affects convective heat transfer and array performance. Wind characteristics vary by site and orientation; measuring direction helps assess plant behaviour under different wind conditions and optimises layout and monitoring strategies.

Installation
Verify operation at ground level before final mounting to ensure each component functions correctly. The plug & run connector simplifies commissioning and reduces wiring errors. Two mounting options are available:
