OverviewThe AquaRanger VHQ is a high-precision ultrasonic instrument for measuring flow in open channels. The system combines electronics, one or two ultrasonic or radar transducers mounted above the liquid, and a velocity meter. Flow is calculated from the wetted area (depending on channel shape and liquid height) multiplied by velocity. Measurement modes include: height-only (constant velocity), height+velocity (flow dependent on level and speed), and velocity-only (constant cross-sectional area such as a full pipe). The instrument displays instantaneous and totalized flow and integrates an event recorder (data logger) that stores and transmits records for up to six weeks or more depending on logging interval. Configuration is possible via front-panel keypad or PC software.
