Description

Overview
The NIV pneumatic ship unloader series are suction-type bulk handling units designed for large-scale ship discharge. Each unit integrates a machine room (mechanical components) and a tubular lattice boom that supports the suction pipes, mounted on a rotating slewing ring to position the pipes over the ship hold. Material is conveyed to the centre of the slewing ring and filtration is provided by a large self-cleaning filter unit.

Key features
  • Customizable
    • Fully configurable to customer requirements and site constraints
    • Mounting options: fixed gantry, rail-mounted gantry, gantry on rubber wheels, on tyres/wheels
    • Low dust and noise emission options
    • Various flowrates to suit vessel sizes and discharge targets
    • Discharge interfaces: trucks, conveyors, wagons
    • Wide range of accessories and site-specific adaptations

  • Simple and heavy-duty construction
    • High wear‑resistant alloys for airlock and unloading piping
    • Low-turbulence hydraulic design with reduced pressure drop via optimized elbow geometry
    • Designed for multi-million ton throughput in standard conditions

  • Low dust emission
    • Self-cleaning filter with compressed‑air jet‑pulse system (filter area 68–400 m²) with no moving parts in the filter element
    • Options suitable for operation in urban or sensitive environments

  • Low energy consumption
    • Direct‑drive turbo‑blower with inverter regulation for optimized energy use
    • Real multi‑stage turbo‑blower with aeronautic design for improved performance
    • VIGAN airlock for sealed product exhaust and minimal losses
    • Optimized unloading piping to limit pressure losses

  • Hydraulic boom
    • Safe, reliable hydraulic system for lifting/withdrawing the boom from the vessel
    • Boom capable of lifting a skid‑steer loader for maintenance and handling tasks

  • Safe by design
    • Includes ATEX study, risk analysis and CE documentation in the standard design package
    • Safety achieved through mechanical design principles without reliance on complex electronics
    • Site-specific engineering for wind, seismic and other local constraints

  • Best efficiency
    • High unloading efficiency with limited capacity reduction during vessel cleaning compared with nominal capacity
