Product overviewThe WL0840 push-pull linear solenoid provides short-stroke linear actuation for industrial and commercial equipment. It is intended for applications that require compact size, rapid response and simple electrical integration, such as locking mechanisms, vending systems and automation assemblies.
How it worksThe unit contains a copper coil that creates a magnetic field when energized. A ferromagnetic plunger inside the coil moves axially to produce either a pushing or pulling force; spring or mechanical return is used when the coil is de-energized. Stroke and force can be configured within the specified range to match application requirements.
Main uses / Applications- Industrial automation: part sorting, pick-and-place, actuation of small mechanisms.
- Access control and locks: fast lock/unlock for doors, cabinets, electronic latches.
- Office and commercial equipment: printers, copiers, ticket dispensers, ATMs.
- Automotive: fuel door actuators, trunk releases, latch mechanisms.
- Medical devices: analyzers, fluid valves and systems requiring precise short travel actuation.
- Vending & self-service machines: product release, coin handling and dispensing mechanisms.
- Household appliances: controlled dispensers, small mechanical actuations.
Advantages- Compact form factor for integration into tight assemblies.
- Fast electrical response suitable for short-stroke, high-cycle operations.
- Simple mechanical design with few moving parts, facilitating maintenance.
- Adjustable stroke and force within specified ranges to match application needs.
Limitations / Disadvantages- Limited stroke length compared with motors or pneumatic actuators; not suitable for long-travel tasks.
- Available force decreases as stroke increases (force–position trade-off).
- Sustained continuous operation at high duty cycles increases heating and power consumption.
NotesDesigned for short-stroke linear actuation where compact size, speed and repeatability are priorities. Refer to the product video (YouTube) for dynamic operation demonstration and to electrical/mechanical integration guides before installation.
