Overview

How it works
The actuator includes a coil surrounding a movable iron plunger. When energized the coil creates an electromagnetic field that attracts or repels the plunger to produce linear travel. Typical sequence:

• Mechanical output actuates valve, lock or switch
• Return mechanism (usually a spring) or removal of power returns the plunger
