| The basis for the QG sensors is a micro machined capacitive sensing element in silicium (MEMS). Despite the high accuracy this element has a very high shock resistance; a sensor with a 1G full scale sensitivity can withstand shocks up 20.000G ! The capacitance levels are transformed with an integrated professional amplifier to analogue voltage levels. A range of I/O configurations are possible with the modular setup of complementary circuits inside the sensor. All QG sensors benefit from the robust QUADRO® (PDF) housing. |

| Test and measurement supplier of accelerometers are generally characterized by smaller size than industrial units and typically use a 10-32 co-axial connector manufacturers to connect to measurement equipment. While they are sometimes used in industrial environments for machinery vibration collection, they are usually used in laboratories and similar environments. Modal and structural testing are the typical applications for test and measurement sensors. |

The 330400 industrial accelerometer is designed for general-purpose casing acceleration measurements and meets all requirements of API 670. The 330425 is identical except it provides a broader amplitude range (75 g peak) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g peak. Neither transducer requires an external interface module.
The 330450 HTAS segregates the sensing element from the signal conditioning electronics, with the two permanently connected via a hard-line cable. This allows the sensing head to be mounted on surfaces with temperatures as high as +400°C ( 752°F), while the signal conditioning electronics can be installed in a cooler location.
The 200150 Accelerometer is intended for use only with a compatible Transducer Interface Module (TIM) as part of our Trendmaster® Pro quasi-continuous online vibration monitoring system. The accelerometer features a frequency response suitable only for general purpose applications. When machinery with slow rotative speeds will be monitored, use the 200155 and an appropriately configured proTIM instead. For acceleration enveloping applications, use the 200157 and an appropriately configured proTIM. |

Wilcoxon Research offers three options for applications in which temperatures are above the normal operating range of industrial accelerometers, greater than 250ºF (120ºC). The FireFET™ series, models 793-6 and 797-6, is designed for continuous operation up to 302ºF (150ºC). These sensors are typically used where extra temperature protection is needed, such as the industrial dryer section of a paper machine.
If an installation is greater than 302ºF, a special type of accelerometer system is necessary. The 376/CC701HT system consists of three parts: sensing accelerometer (376), charge industrial converter (CC701HT) and connecting cable. Using this arrangement, the temperature-sensitive professional amplifier (charge converter) is removed from the sensor and placed within a separate component outside the intense heat. One end of the charge converter will be connected to the sensor via the supplied cable and the other will be available to connect to analysis or acquisition equipment. As with all "charge mode" sensors, care must be taken to secure the connecting cable when taking data. Movement of this cable may induce false signals (triboloectric effect). |
