The DECS 50/5 (Digital EC Controller Sensorless) is a new controller for driving brushless dc motors without Hall sensors.
Typical sensorless drives such as pumps and professional fan applications can now easily be created thanks to modern technology and expert integrated controlling algorithms. maxon's own in-house developed speed controller is particularly impressive through its performance, price and size.
As well as being a top performer, attractively priced and very small, the new professional amplifier's other key feature is that it can be easily adapted to specific requirements. The free choice of starting sequence is a major benefit, as it allows the attached motor to start up easily, even when the motor data or load ratios are unfavourable. The DECS 50/5 also provides control inputs for selecting motor direction, enable and braking. As usual, the necessary protective functions have all been fully implemented. An operating status display (LED) and speed monitor output complete the convenient control features. |

These solid state magnetic accelerators have been designed as speed input devices used for solid-state controls for electric vehicle traction motors. Applications include industrial fork lifts, utility vehicles, and airport ground support vehicles.
Input voltage : 18 to 80 volts DC
Output voltage (maximum) : 3.65 volts (nominal)
Output voltage (minimum) : 0.35 volts (nominal)
Start professional switch output voltage : Equal to user battery input voltage
Start switch output current : 3 amps continuous, 5 amps intermittent (10 seconds)
Note: This accelerator switch does not contain a 1A switch.
Features and Benefits:
- Start switch function is performed by a power MOSFET, in lieu of a mechanical device
- Typical actuator manufacturers force is 5 lbs, and should not exceed 7 lbs
- Switch may be operated through a linkage mechanism or directly from the vehicle accelerator pedal
- Customer connection is made by means of a metric M10x1.5 male thread
- Underwriter's Laboratory Type EE construction, O-ring cover industrial seal, blind mounting holes, and insulated wire hole grommet all combine to eliminate the need for periodic cleaning
- No mechanical adjustment required after installation
- Includes reverse battery protection and internal fusing for start switch over-current protection
- A hall effect sensor detects the input industrial shaft displacement through the 0.75" shaft stroke
- Switch contains a push pull linear input shaft, with a typical 0.1" displacement for start switch closure |
