OverviewThe JG and JGA are medium-sized, driver-mounted separable reciprocating compressors used for gas gathering, fuel-gas boosting, underbalanced drilling and CNG service. Introduced in 1966, the JG was Ariel's initial small-frame reciprocating compressor; early frames included JG/2 and JG/4. The JGA version adds gas-lift capabilities for higher shale-well production.

Product Features- Rugged crankcase: Heavily-ribbed, high-strength cast-iron base with a removable lightweight aluminum top cover for long service life and easy maintenance access.
- High-efficiency oil filters: Non-bypassing spin-on oil filters rated at 5-micron nominal and 17-micron absolute.
- Durable pistons and rods: Wear-resistant steel or gray-iron pistons and precision-ground alloy-steel piston rods with locking crosshead nuts; rolled threads are 1/4" under rod diameter for easier installation.
- Innovative cylinders: Versatile cylinder designs usable across a wide pressure range; cylinders can be combined in many configurations. Ariel 7 performance software is used to model and design configurations.
Materials- Gray iron crankcase: Forged steel crankshaft, gray iron crosshead guide, tri-metal main bearing.
- Ductile iron crosshead: Alloy-steel crosshead pin.
- Forged steel connecting rod: Bronze crosshead pin bushing, tri-metal connecting rod bearing, grade 8 stress bolts.
Additional NotesSeparable reciprocating design suitable for gas gathering, fuel-gas boosting, underbalanced drilling and CNG. JG is the longstanding small-frame product introduced in 1966; JGA provides modern gas-lift capability for increased shale-well production.
