Overview
Separable reciprocating compressors designed to couple with high-speed engines for field-gas applications. JGN and JGQ are offered with high-pressure cylinder options and are suited to gas-lift and CNG vehicle-fueling duties.

Applications & frames
Customers may deploy JGN and JGQ in single-throw or double-throw configurations for three-stage arrangements or small-horsepower rental fleets. The two frames provide nominal frame horsepower in the 250–280 BHP range and are engineered to operate under demanding field-gas conditions. Valve and unloader options enable adaptability as site conditions change.

Product features

• Precision bearing shells: Main and connecting rod bearings are precision-machined with tri-metal composition for consistent load support.
• Versatile unloading devices: Manual head-end variable volume clearance pockets (VVCP) are available on most cylinders; pneumatic suction valve unloaders offered in select applications.
• Efficient valves: Plate-type valves designed for modern operating speeds, using non-metallic sealing elements as standard and selected to meet low-valve-velocity criteria.
• Innovative cylinders: Cylinders are designed for wide pressure-range operation and can be combined in multiple configurations to deliver required volume and pressure. Ariel 7 Performance Software is used for configuration modeling.

Materials

• Gray iron crankcase: Forged steel crankshaft, gray iron crosshead guide, tri-metal main bearing.
• Ductile iron crosshead: Alloy steel crosshead pin.
• Forged steel connecting rod: Bronze crosshead pin bushing, tri-metal connecting rod bearing, grade 8 bolts.
