OverviewDAL FORNO designs and manufactures modular vacuum lifters and customized vacuum lifting systems for sheet metal, metal panels and curved metal components. Systems are available in multiple suction-pad configurations and vacuum-generation options to suit industrial production needs.
Key Benefits- Move sheets of any size and thickness quickly and safely
- Optimize production rates and reduce cycle times
- Protect workers from unnecessary strain and injury
- Meet specific needs with customized modular solutions
- Reduce labor costs and improve handling efficiency
Product Features- Multiple suction-pad types and positional configurations to match sheet dimensions and shapes
- Handling capability for sheet sizes up to 4000 x 2000 mm and load capacity up to 2000 kg (example configurations)
- Vacuum generation: electric pump or Venturi (compressed-air) options
- Vacuum reservoir for reserve capacity and extended backup time
- Visual and audible alarm and vacuum gauge for continuous vacuum-level monitoring
- Modular, customizable frames to adapt to load, working area and motion requirements
- Flexible suction pads available for curved, concave and convex metal surfaces (pipes, coils, poles, vehicle body parts)
How it worksVacuum lifters create negative pressure between suction pads and the metal surface. Suction pads provide holding force while a vacuum reservoir maintains reserve capacity. Gauges and alarms allow operators to monitor vacuum level and react in case of drop below set thresholds.
What you get- Efficiency: Lower cycle times and reduced handling costs
- Ease of Use: Quick gripping, lifting and positioning of sheets
- Supported Materials: Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous sheets (stainless steel, aluminium, coated panels) when surface conditions allow vacuum gripping
- Safety: Redundancy and alarm systems reduce the need for manual clamping and lower accident risk
The Advantages- Reduced operating costs through simplified handling
- Increased safety with redundant vacuum and clear warnings
- High flexibility from modular architecture and custom layouts
- Ongoing technical support and service to maintain system performance
Technical specifications- Maximum handled sheet size (example): up to 4000 x 2000 mm
- Maximum load capacity (example): up to 2000 kg
- Typical configurations: 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 suction pads (modular variations)
- Vacuum generation: electric pump or Venturi (compressed air)
- Vacuum reservoir for reserve capacity and extended backup time (several minutes in case of malfunction)
- Monitoring and alarms: vacuum gauge with visual and audible alarm; alarm typically activates if vacuum drops below approx. 80% (reference values indicated in documentation)
- Suction pads: multiple types and special flexible pads for curved surfaces
- Supported materials: ferrous and non-ferrous (including stainless steel and aluminium) when surface is suitable for vacuum gripping
- Design: modular, customizable to load, working area, movement and production process
- Energy efficiency: tight seals and quality materials to minimise air leakage and reduce consumption
- Safety features: redundancy, clear warnings and operator monitoring to prioritise safety
