Description

Description
Type HZS is a self-priming, single- or multi-stage centrifugal pump with shaft seal (lubrication: grease). It is designed for horizontal installation and reversible rotation, suitable for industrial applications requiring reliable self-priming and high heads.

Venting / Operation
The venting system operates on the side-channel pump principle. During start-up, the liquid in the pump combines with the air in the suction line to form a liquid–gas mixture; the venting impeller conveys the air portion into the discharge nozzle. The pressure-side arrangement of the venting stage ensures complete venting of the suction line and pump casing.

Low NPSH optimization
To achieve low NPSH values the suction stand is shaped as an inlet spiral and the suction-side impeller features an enlarged inlet cross section to improve suction performance.

Construction and bearings
Axial thrust is compensated via relief boreholes and throttle gaps; wear rings are standard on suction and pressure sides. The pump shaft is supported by a cylindrical ball bearing and a double-sided angular contact ball bearing. The pump uses grease lubrication.
