DescriptionThe magnetically coupled peripheral impeller pump TPM/R, often referred to as a turbine pump, belongs to the family of centrifugal pumps. Its construction and operating principle are similar to a side-channel pump. The TPM/R delivers high discharge pressures at relatively low flow rates, has low NPSH requirements and—when speed-controlled—can be adjusted optimally to the operating point. Peripheral pumps show high tolerance to gas content in the fluid, allowing continuous operation even under degassing or short-term air ingress. To avoid galling of the impellers, the pumps are equipped on both sides with SiC running rings, eliminating metallic contact between rotating and stationary parts. The hermetically sealed design makes the TPM/R particularly suitable for pumping toxic, explosive and environmentally hazardous media.
