The compact, battery-powered coating thickness gauge LAYERCHECK 750 USB performs fast, accurate non-destructive measurements on metallic substrates. Typical applications include industrial corrosion protection, appraisers, electroplating and paint shops, the chemical industry, automotive, ship and aircraft construction, and apparatus and machine construction.
Design and function
The housing is made of a hard, wear-resistant material with a surrounding rubber edge for impact protection. A large, backlit LC display enables measurements in poorly lit environments. Depending on the instrument type, the gauge operates on the magnetic induction principle (F) or, with combined probes, additionally by the eddy-current method (FN). The probe is held in a spring-mounted sleeve to ensure stable positioning and constant contact pressure. The hemispherical probe tip is hard and wear-resistant; the single-pole sensor connects to the gauge via a 1 m cable. For export and further processing of measured values, the instrument can be connected to a PC via USB; the Msoft7000 basic edition (German/English/French) is included.
