WedgeSoft X is a software solution for mechanical-optical coating thickness measurement that imports separately captured images (from a digital microscope, smartphone or tablet) and determines layer thicknesses up to 6000 µm. It is delivered with a security dongle for activation and supports multi-layer measurements (up to 6 layers).


Measurement workflow

The software is executed via a security dongle and is activated by plugging the dongle into the computer.

Images intended for measurement must provide the camera scale factor as a verification variable (the software provides an optional input) or include a scale placed next to the bore (e.g. a calibrated steel ruler).

Contrast lines are positioned by cursor at the transition contrast from substrate to coating and at the upper edge of the coating.

After entering the wedge cut angle, the software automatically calculates the layer thickness.

Several layers (up to 6) can be marked and measured simultaneously.
