General descriptionGlass Service supplies complete air‑gas burner systems for glass melting and distributor applications. The supply scope includes burners and all complementary accessories: air and gas valves, flexible joints/connections, orifice plates for flow balancing and measurement, and thermally insulated pipework where preheated primary air is required.
OverviewThe BR series covers nominal outputs from 145 to 1600 kW. Two flame types are available: luminous flame (LF) for the melting area and clear flame (NF) for distributor zones. Burners can be mounted with inlet pipework from above or below. The burner block may be provided by GLASS SERVICE or manufactured by the customer to GLASS SERVICE drawings. A high‑temperature variant, BR – HT, is rated for service up to 800 °C.
Design featuresBR burners feature a low‑momentum flame path to prevent local peak temperatures on the furnace crown and related rat‑holes. Flame radiation is concentrated in the visible spectrum (improving radiative heat transfer to the glass). Key characteristics include:
- Low momentum flame path
- High radiation in the visible spectrum (500–2000 nm)
- Continuous external regulation of flame length for precise path adjustment (dual impulse model available)
- Maintenance‑friendly, easily removable components
- Compatible with natural gas or LPG
- Multiple sizes to match application requirements
Dual impulse model (BR-DI)The BR‑DI incorporates a special nozzle design allowing flame length adjustment without changing the burner nozzle. Adjustment is performed via a manual valve on the burner lance. Dual impulse is available for high luminous flame burners only.

Additional notesFlame shape (luminous or clear) is selected by nozzle type. Flame length can be adjusted by nozzle size or, for BR‑DI models, via the manual valve. Orifice plates are used for flow control and pressure‑loss balancing. A high‑temperature version (BR – HT) is available up to 800 °C.
