This part is a functional component commissioned by a Spanish company for use in electrical switches. HLC is responsible for the production of the metal parts, which will be assembled by the customer. The product is made directly from SECC galvanized sheet metal, and does not require further nickel plating. However, the cut surface has not been electroplated, which may lead to rust problems in the future. One noteworthy aspect of the production process is the presentation of the ABB logo. While laser engraving is typically used to create the emblem, this method could damage the zinc-plated layer on this SECC material, leading to surface rust and component defects. To avoid such issues, a specialized mold insert was added during the product design and mold-making stage to emboss the emblem onto the part.
