Description

Product overview
Emergency Check Valves (ECVs) are designed to block the spread of flames and gases, thereby preventing structural damage and protecting operators. They are passive elements that activate automatically in case of overpressure or explosion, sealing tightly to prevent the backward flow of unwanted gases or flames. ECVs are required on all waste extraction systems with a filtration device. During normal operation, the ECV Safety Valve remains open without restricting flow. In the event of an explosion in the filtration device, back pressure closes the valve, preventing the effects of explosion and fire from traveling back through the ducting to work areas. Once activated, the valve stays closed.

Certification
The safety non return valve is certified ATEX EN16447 against the propagation of an explosion in the suction line as required by the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.

Construction and materials
ECVs are constructed from carbon steel (painted blue RAL5010 or red RAL3020) or stainless steel (AISI304). The unions are welded and reinforced to withstand high pressure.

Accessories
  • Safety anti opening block
  • Micro-switch close position
  • Sensor inside for material stop
  • Gasket in silicon cell
  • Sound proofing

Additional safety options
As part of a turn-key solution, proprietary spark and flame detection devices and extinguishing systems can be supplied to create alarms, shut down the waste system and extinguish fires if required.
