The basis for the QG sensors is a micro machined capacitive sensing element in silicium (MEMS). Despite the high accuracy this element has a very high shock resistance; a sensor with a 1G full scale sensitivity can withstand shocks up 20.000G ! The capacitance levels are transformed with an integrated amplifier to analogue voltage levels. A range of I/O configurations are possible with the modular setup of complementary circuits inside the sensor. All QG sensors benefit from the robust QUADRO® (PDF) housing.

Test and measurement accelerometers are generally characterized by smaller size than industrial units and typically use a 10-32 co-axial connector to connect to measurement equipment. While they are sometimes used in industrial environments for machinery vibration collection, they are usually used in laboratories and similar environments. Modal and structural testing are the typical applications for test and measurement sensors.

These PCB series of acceleration or shock sensors are intended for applications where acceleration, velocity or impact need to be sensed. Many commercial applications exist (automotive, motorbikes, test equipment,…)
Their size is very small enabling them to be mounted practically everywhere. High reliability, robustness and no power needed for activation, are their major advantages.
These acceleration and shock switches are available from 1 to 15 g-level .

The 330400 accelerometer is designed for general-purpose casing acceleration measurements and meets all requirements of API 670. The 330425 is identical except it provides a broader amplitude range (75 g peak) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g peak. Neither transducer requires an external interface module.
The 330450 HTAS segregates the sensing element from the signal conditioning electronics, with the two permanently connected via a hard-line cable. This allows the sensing head to be mounted on surfaces with temperatures as high as +400°C ( 752°F), while the signal conditioning electronics can be installed in a cooler location.
The 200150 Accelerometer is intended for use only with a compatible Transducer Interface Module (TIM) as part of our Trendmaster® Pro quasi-continuous online condition monitoring system. The accelerometer features a frequency response suitable only for general purpose applications. When machinery with slow rotative speeds will be monitored, use the 200155 and an appropriately configured proTIM instead. For acceleration enveloping applications, use the 200157 and an appropriately configured proTIM.

Wilcoxon Research offers three options for applications in which temperatures are above the normal operating range of industrial accelerometers, greater than 250ºF (120ºC). The FireFET™ series, models 793-6 and 797-6, is designed for continuous operation up to 302ºF (150ºC). These sensors are typically used where extra temperature protection is needed, such as the dryer section of a paper machine.
If an installation is greater than 302ºF, a special type of accelerometer system is necessary. The 376/CC701HT system consists of three parts: sensing accelerometer (376), charge converter (CC701HT) and connecting cable. Using this arrangement, the temperature-sensitive amplifier (charge converter) is removed from the sensor and placed within a separate component outside the intense heat. One end of the charge converter will be connected to the sensor via the supplied cable and the other will be available to connect to analysis or acquisition equipment. As with all "charge mode" sensors, care must be taken to secure the connecting cable when taking data. Movement of this cable may induce false signals (triboloectric effect).

Ultra high output, multiple shear plate vibration transducer. Shear plate
construction provides near total isolation from mechanical inputs other than acceleration, thus safeguarding measurement integrity in applications where vibration is accompanied by high dynamic strain levels.
Generalising, these conditions are prevalent where modal frequencies are low, and are thus associated with vibration surveys of large structures.
Transducers exhibiting significant strain response may operate more akin to strain gauges at low frequency excitation and their use is thus to be discouraged ! System noise level of 10-3pC is equivalent to 1µg.
This should be realizable with bandwidth restricted to 1kHz.

The extended temperature capability (+175 °C) and high resolution of Endevco's Model 65HT triaxial accelerometer separates its performance from that of its competitors.
Incorporating the latest in high temperature component and process technologies, Model 65HT's micro-electronic circuits are designed and built to continuously operate at +175°C, all packaged within a 10mm welded titanium cube. The relatively compact size of this accelerometer enables a test engineer or technician to simultaneously measure vibration across three orthogonal axes on lightweight structures.
Interface to the model 65HT is via a hermetically sealed 4-pin connector. It is supplied with high temperature cable assemblies as a standard accessory.
Model 65HT's excellent frequency responses, both amplitude and phase, make it ideally suited for structural and component testing in automotive test cells, environmental test chambers and general laboratory applications.

Endevco® Model 2221F piezoelectric accelerometer is specially designed for reliable high temperature vibration measurement on small structures and objects. The unit is hermetically sealed and is ideal for use in extreme environments. Its lightweight (11 gm) design minimizes mass loading effects. The accelerometer is a self-generating device that requires no external power source for operation.
Model 2221F features Endevco’s Piezite® P-8 crystal element, operating in annular shear mode. This unit exhibits excellent output sensitivity and stability over time. Signal ground is connected to the outer case of the unit and, when used with an isolated mounting screw, the accelerometer is electrically isolated from ground. A low-noise coaxial cable is supplied for error-free operation. The transducer has a centrally located thru bolt, allowing for 360° cable orientation. The unit may also be adhesively mounted if the application permits.
