The tilt sensor product range of elobau offers a large number of solutions for the detection of tilt angles. Irrespective of whether you use analogue or digital versions, many application situations in the industrial sector and automotive industry require a safe and reliable switching function.
The sensors, which are largely mercury-free and based on Hall technology, can monitor two axes in up to two planes, i.e. at eight different angles.

Inclinometers allow an easy and efficient way to measure position values without direct coupling to the actuators. This fact and a high protection class allow them to be placed almost anywhere, providing more flexibility for design engineers. Inclinometers also allow simultaneous measurement of two axes with a single sensor, which can also reduce the design and engineering effort compared to other sensor systems. |

For tilt applications where a visual indication or measurement is required, Fredericks inclinometers are ideal. An inclinometer is comprised of a glass tube, bent to a specific radius, which determines its angular range. A ball is inserted in the tube, then the tube is filled with a clear, wide-temperature-range fluid and hermetically sealed. Decals and paint are applied based on the individual customer's requirements. Inclinometers are assembled under the most exacting standards using fixtures, processes, and tooling developed by our engineers. This allows us to offer a product that will provide years of consistent performance and reliability no matter what the application.
Typical applications include aircraft instrumentation, hospital bed-angle gauges, recreational vehicle tilt warning, and inclination indicators for sailing vessels. When your application demands a rugged, reliable visual tilt indication, Fredericks inclinometers provide a practical, accurate, and economical solution. |

Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology is one of the most exciting areas in the field of "analog" technology.
Sensitive, compact and inexpensive inertial sensors based on MEMS technology allow system designers to add new capabilities to their products that make them easier to use, more functional and more reliable.
For example, in an Internet-enabled mobile phone or PDA, motion-sensing devices can be used to enable an intuitive user interface based on simple movements of the hand. In home appliances a vibration sensor chip can detect fault conditions and alert the user to the need for preventive maintenance before a failure occurs or even before a problem becomes perceptible.
Commercially available inertial MEMS sensors include different types that can sense movement in one, two, or even three linear axis.
Some types also directly sense rotational acceleration around one axis and others, gyroscopes, can implement the function of a Coriolis-effect, sensing the angolar rate. These sensors share the same principle of operation and sense movements by measuring changes in capacitance between moving and fixed structures.

Dytran Instruments Inc. has just introduced an ultra miniature IEPE accelerometer with titanium housing. Weighing in at just 0.2 grams, this miniature accelerometer successfully reduces mass loading effects. Because of its tiny "teardrop" design, the 3224A2 is ideal for vibration measurements in even the smallest locations.
Model 3224A2 is laser welded in a titanium housing which ensures its robust construction and contributes to its lightweight. The model 3224A2 is available with a sensitivity of 2mV/g and can operate at temperatures up to 300°F. It features integrated electronics, an adhesive mount and a planar shear, quartz design which reduces base strain sensitivity, thermal transient response and thermal coefficient of sensitivity.
Key Features
• Ultra miniature design
• 2mV/g sensitivity
• 0.2 grams
• Integral cable
• Adhesive mount
• High temperature
• IEPE
Potential Applications
• Environmental Stress Screening
• PC board vibration measurements
• Product response
• General purpose vibration where space is at a premium
• Mechanical shock |

This ultra small vibration transducer (0.25 gram!)provides
virtual transparency applied to lightweight
structures, allied to relative freedom from strain
induced error. The reliability and performance
criteria applied to our transducers generally,
welded electrical connections and case seal, are
fully implemented in the construction of the
A/28/E.
Signal outlet is via a
surface contact socket.
A 0.8mm dia. softline cable is available
specifically for the A/28/E. |
|
Micro-miniature triaxial vibration transducer comprising three shear plate. A/28/E inserts bonded orthogonally into a hard anodised aluminium housing.
The inserts are electrically insulated, individually and from the housing, thus
eliminating ground loop interference. The additional mechanical isolation implicit in the construction provides also near elimination of strain induced error.
The spatial response of a structure to dynamic forcing may lead to erroneous single axis vibration or shock measurement, due to the
inherent directional property of the transducer.
In cases where this is deemed to be a problem, an orthogonal three axis measurement, allowing computation of absolute value and direction offers a solution. |

| The Model 901 and 902 Biaxial Clinometers accurately measure angular position where space is limited. These conveniently sized, low-cost units fit neatly into pressure housings, well-logging tools and other small places. The gravity-referenced Models 901 and 902 measure rotations about two orthogonal axes and their high-level voltage outputs drive long cables. A three variant range of low mass (2gm.)
accelerometers, each with KONIC sensing
element, welded construction, miniature (3.5mm
thd.) side or top entry coaxial connector, and
titanium case. The two adhesive mount versions
(A/124/E, A/124/TE), are provided with bonded
isolation discs to minimise ground loop
interference, whilst the top entry connector
version (A/124/TS) is also available with integral
mounting stud but without isolation. |
|
Sub-miniature, all welded, KONIC sensing element based vibration transducer. The low mass of the A/25/E renders it transparent in the vast majority of lightweight structure vibration measurement applications.
The A/25/E is adhesive mounted. A detachment tool is provided to shear adhesive joints. Shock removal is to be avoided as being deletorious to
the integrity of the transducer.
Abrasive cleaning of the attachment face will reduce base thickness over time, sparing use of adhesive will aid longevity. Signal outlet is via a surface contact socket. Mating connector preload torque should be 7cNm, the locknut tightened to 12cNm for signal integrity to 10,000g. Insufficient preload may result in intermittent signal loss. |
|
Include modal analysis of lightweight structures and shock measurement. Low frequency multi point modal measurements are subject to
individual phase/gain errors associated with the lower corner frequency of the QVC.
The ratiometric nature of modal analysis however reduces transfer function uncertainty to the associated lower corner frequency variations of individual QVCs. |
