Conventional Dc motors use a stationary magnet with a rotating armature combining the commutation segments and professional brushes to provide automatic commutation. In comparison, the brushless dc motor suppliers is a reversed design: the permanent magnetic is rotating whereas the windings are part of the stator and can be energized without requiring a commutator-and-brush system. Therefore this motor type achieves very long, trouble-free life even while operating at very high speeds.
Key Attributes:
- Frame sizes range from 12.7mm (0.5 in.) to 58mm (2.3 in.)
- Speeds up to 100 000 rpm
- Torque range of 3.3 mNm (0.32 oz. in.) to 316 mNm (44.7 oz. in.)
- Speed, direction, current control option are available
- Autoclavable features available
- Versions without hall sensor
- Versions with hall effect sensors
Characteristics:
- Essentially Linear torque/speed curve, with torque proportional to current and speed proportional to voltage
- No mechanical commutation via brushes
- Improved heat dissipation
- No detent torque
- Tipically used in application with variations of speed or load
- Typically used in incremental motion
Advantages:
- Ease of speed and position control
- Very long life, high reliability, insensitive to environment (no arcing), motor is dust free with reduced audible and electrical noise levels
- Overload capability
- Excellent velocity smoothness
- Very simple commutation circuitry
- Very precise speed and position control |

Mechanically commutated permanent magnetic Dc motors manufacturers
Mechanically commutated permanent magnet motors are designed for operation with 24 V direct voltage and provide a nominal torque and a nominal speed with this voltage.
The exact motor speed is dependent on the required torque, according to the motor characteristic. Speed control is possible in conjunction with external open-loop control.
The lifetime of a mechanically commutated permanent magnet motor is designed for 3000 hours (operating factor CB=1 and nominal load) (carbon professional brush wear). |
|
Electronically commutated permanent magnetic EC motors
EC direct current motors have very long lifetimes due to their electronic commutation (normally over 10,000 hours). Speed control can be realised via the electronics integrated in most models. Electronically commutated motors normally provide high torque even at lower speeds.
DC gear motors are available even as external and internal rotors.
The external rotor is characterised by a high torque and a high mass inertia of the rotor.
The internal rotor captivates by its excellent dynamics. |

The new helical NORDBLOC gearedmotors
Getriebebau NORD has further developed the NORDBLOC series
compact block housing helical gearedmotors with new constructive
improvements. The drives now have lightweight aluminium die cast housings optimized with FEM calculations. The new design allows the mounting of larger, stronger manufacturer of bearings that permit higher radial and axial loads and so achieve a longer service life. The units can also be mounted more efficiently. Another instantly noticeable feature is that locking caps on the housings are no longer required, as openings previously needed for assembly, have been completely omitted in the new design. The launch of the new NORDBLOC generation will offer 2 sizes in dual stage design. Within short 8 sizes will be available in dual and triple stage design. New advantages have been added to established strengths: Economic direct motor mounting for example, is available as always. However with the new design very short, space- and weight-saving IEC adapters can also be attached. At the same time, the connection dimensions remain the same as earlier so that the new design can seamlessly replace an earlier model as needed.
