ASM introduces New Magnetic Clinometer POSITILT®
ASM introduces a new, innovative inclinometer series, PTAS2, with ranges from ±15° to ±180° in a robust, IP 68 rated stainless steel housing. This industrial grade sensor has been tested to withstand the harsh conditions which make it suited for a wide range of applications such as factory automation machines and robotics, mobile cranes, draw bridges, adjustable platforms and off-highway professional construction equipment.
The PTAS2 series is the latest addition to the POSITILT® family and is available with three different absolute analog outputs: 0.5-5 V, 0.5-10V and 4-20mA with a typical resolution of 0.1°. The measurement range is available from ±15° to ±180° in 15° increments. The compact 36 mm (1.4 inch) diameter housing with servo flange mounting allows for quick and easy installation.
Since the PTAS2 is based upon wear-free, multi-Hall Effect position sensor technology, it offers significantly increased reliability in extreme environments. The PTAS2 is tested to withstand 100 g shocks and 20 g, 10 Hz-2 kHz vibration.

The tilt sensor product range of elobau offers a large number of solutions for the detection of tilt angles. Irrespective of whether you use analogue or digital versions, many application situations in the industrial sector and automotive industry require a safe and reliable switching function.
The detection, which are largely mercury-free and based on Hall technology, can monitor two axes in up to two planes, i.e. at eight different angles.

Inclinometers allow an easy and efficient way to measure position values without direct coupling to the industrial actuators. This fact and a high protection class allow them to be placed almost anywhere, providing more flexibility for design engineers. Inclinometers also allow simultaneous measurement of two axes with a single sensor, which can also reduce the design and engineering effort compared to other sensor systems. |

The new STT280 sealed tilt sensor is designed to provide reliable, fit-and-forget tilt measurement sensing within an extremely compact housing, for the most arduous operating environments. The STT280 is suitable for use in applications such as road construction equipment, cranes and booms, scissor lifts, agricultural vehicles, professional container handling and hydraulic lifting systems.
The STT280 uses solid state 3D-MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology to measure the sensor’s inclination relative to earth’s gravity. The STT280 has a measurement range of ±60° and provides a 0.5 to 4.5Vdc output signal over this range, with a nominal 2.5Vdc at 0° tilt. By using this technology, the STT280 provides distinct advantages in reliability, stability and compactness over fluid based, electrolytic and pendulum operated detection. |
