OverviewThe Vortisand® C-Series is a microsand filtration system engineered for commercial cooling loops, including HVAC, data centers, central utility plants, hospitals and district energy facilities.
DescriptionThe Vortisand C-Series combines cross-flow hydraulics with STRATA HDX™ microsand media to deliver submicron particulate removal at high flux rates. The design enables filtration up to 5× the rate of conventional media filters while achieving particle capture 10–50× finer, reducing fouling and preserving heat-transfer efficiency.
Key benefits- Limits fouling and biofouling in cooling loops to maintain system heat-transfer performance
- Submicron filtration removes fine particles responsible for equipment contamination
- Footprint and weight up to 75% smaller than traditional multimedia filters
- Lower operating water use—approximately 50% less backwash water compared with conventional filters
Features- High flux operation up to 25 gpm/ft²
- Automated, self-backwashing operation for continuous performance
- Simplified pump skid layout to ease integration
- ASME-certified pressure vessels and integrated pressure-relief system for operational safety
- STRATA HDX™ media for submicron performance
- PLC-based controls for monitoring, control and troubleshooting
- Separate enclosures for high- and low-voltage electronics to improve safety
