Description

Product overview
Coil silicone heaters (Series 185) are pre‑coiled, flexible heating elements designed for small-diameter pipes and components where compact, curved heating is required. They combine silicone laminated construction with embedded resistance wire to provide uniform surface heating up to 200°C and are suitable for a range of industrial applications.

Applications
  • Small-diameter pipes carrying fluid or gas
  • Semiconductor processing equipment
  • Frost protection of lines and fittings
  • Anti-condensation on enclosures and housings
  • Heat-loss maintenance for process lines

Construction and installation
Elements consist of resistance wire encapsulated between two silicone layers and laminated under heat and pressure. The product is supplied pre-coiled and remains flexible, allowing straightforward installation on curved or straight pipes. Standard fit diameters begin at Ø6.35 mm with nominal lengths up to 1020 mm; mounting up to Ø12.7 mm is supported. Custom dimensions and lengths are available on request.

Temperature control
An integrated temperature sensor can be supplied for closed-loop regulation. Sensor outputs are compatible with PID control cabinets (sensor + PID cabinet solutions available) to ensure stable temperature control in process applications.

Technical specification
Surface load: 0.26–0.3 W/cm²
Working temperature: -60°C to +200°C
Voltage: 240 V (customizable)
Fits diameters: Ø6.35 to Ø12.7 mm (customizable)
Thickness: 1.5 mm
Nominal length: designed for ~80% surface coverage
Extended length: approx. 60% surface coverage
Installation: must be connected to an electrical system protected by a residual current circuit breaker
Thermal conductivity: 0.22 W/m·K

Environmental specifications
  • Very good resistance to weathering and aging
  • Very good resistance to fungal and bacterial growth
  • High chemical resistance to substances such as acetone, alcohol, formic acid, brake oil, acetic acid, greases, HCl 10%, H2SO4 10%, waxes and plasticizers
  • Good resistance to steam up to +130°C or 2.5 bar
