Description

Overview
Laser scanning heads (2D and 3D) direct laser beams by mirror reflection to scan across a work area. Fast, precise scanning reduces required system motion and increases process throughput. IPG scanners integrate with IPG lasers for industrial applications such as welding, cutting, cleaning, ablation, marking and additive manufacturing.

Key features
  • Power handling (multi-mode): up to 2 kW (mid-power), up to 6 kW (D20), up to 12 kW (D33 / 3D)
  • Ingress protection: IP67 available on higher-power models
  • Clear aperture options: 12 mm, 20 mm, 33 mm
  • Scan field widths: up to ~320 mm (wide-field lenses available)
  • Field shapes: square and rectangular scan fields

Wide field lens
Wider scan fields increase the laser processing area, enabling more cuts, welds or wider cleaning per position and reducing overall motion. Both square and rectangular wide-field lenses are available to match application geometry and throughput requirements.

Integration Control Center
  • Direct connections to scanner, laser, robot/PLC (Fieldbus), PC and LDD weld measurement
  • Industrial Fieldbus support: Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
  • Industrial cable package and multiple mounting options

Product families and comparison
Mid-Power 2D Scanner — multi-mode up to 2 kW; clear aperture ~12 mm; example lenses: 100 mm (60×60 mm) to 420 mm (300×300 mm).
High-Power Laser Scanner (D20) — multi-mode up to 6 kW; clear aperture 20 mm; example lenses: 260 mm (112×112 mm), 500 mm (250×250 mm); IP67 on selected configs.
Ultra High-Power Laser Scanner (D33) — multi-mode up to 12 kW; clear aperture 33 mm; multi- and single-mode lens options up to 510 mm (fields up to ~270×270 mm); IP67 available.
3D High-Power Laser Scanner — up to 12 kW; 33 mm aperture; selected lenses provide Z stroke examples ±6 mm to ±13 mm; window contamination detection available on higher-power models.

Notes
Specifications above represent typical configurations. Custom lens/field combinations and tailored specifications are available per model and application.
