The automatic feeder, together with the PL6/PL8 peeler, forms the complete automatic line for Williams pears. From here, the pears are picked up and transferred to an orientation station. In this station, the Williams pears are oriented with the stem facing downwards. The feeder’s electrical control panel is interfaced with the peeler’s electrical panel for mechanism synchronization. It consists of:
• Hopper for aligning and distributing the pears
• Motorized drum to distribute the pears onto the alignment mechanism
• Mechanism to transfer the pears directly into the peeler cups
