Mounting bracket IXFs

This series of OEM, single axis, optical mounts from Siskiyou Corporation offers exceptional stability at a low price point. The IXFs series mounts achieve this performance through monolithic flexure construction, where the entire mount—including both plates and springs—is fabricated from a single piece of metal. This unique configuration improves heat transfer through the mount compared to traditional kinematic construction, resulting in significantly better pointing stability in the presence of temperature changes. Limiting the mount to a single axis of adjustment simplifies its construction and reduces cost.

IXFs single axis mounts are available for optics in the 0.50" to 2.0" (12.7 mm to 50.8 mm) diameter range. Multiple mounting configurations are offered, including bulkhead placement with either front or rear (through the bulkhead) adjustment options, making the mounts particularly useful for space-constrained applications. IXFs mounts are also compatible with the Siskiyou IXFc Optic Clip, which enables components to be retained with no mechanical distortion.

The IXFs single axis series mounts are available in both steel and aluminum versions. Steel construction provides superior mechanical and thermal stability, while aluminum offers lower weight and vacuum compatibility. The mount's use in vacuum applications is further enhanced by monolithic construction, which eliminates blind holes or other places where gas or volatiles can be trapped, thus eliminating the potential for outgassing.
