OverviewNEMA 12 (IP54) Cabinet Cooler systems by EXAIR provide dust- and oil-resistant enclosure cooling for industrial electronic cabinets where liquids or corrosives are not present. Thermostat-controlled units (factory set at 95°F / 35°C) reduce compressed-air use by activating the cooler only when internal temperature approaches the setpoint. The compact system installs through a standard electrical knockout and preserves the enclosure NEMA rating. All units are UL Listed and CE compliant. The cooling is produced by a vortex tube with no moving parts.
Applications- Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control panels
- Motor control centers and relay panels
- NC/CNC enclosures and laser housings
- Computer and electronic instrument cabinets
- CCTV and camera housings
- Modular control centers and line cabinets
Advantages- Low acquisition and operating cost
- Compact footprint, installs in minutes
- Cooling range 275–5,600 Btu/hr (80–1,641 W) depending on model
- Maintains NEMA 12 integrity (IP54) — protects from dirt and dust
- No moving parts — minimal maintenance
- No CFCs; quieter operation with optional muffler
- Eliminates enclosure fans and filters for internal air handling
Standard FeaturesThermostat-control systems include: Cabinet Cooler (vortex-tube based), solenoid valve, adjustable thermostat (factory set at 95°F / 35°C), 5-micron automatic drain filter/separator, and a cold-air distribution kit (tubing, clips, fittings) to direct cold air to hot spots. Multiple voltages and control configurations are available. Units are UL Listed and CE compliant.

Performance SummaryPublished capacities reference 100 PSIG (6.9 BAR) supply pressure. Typical cooling yields approximately a 54°F (30°C) drop from supply air temperature at 100 PSIG; elevated inlet temperature or reduced inlet pressure will lower capacity. Sound levels vary by model (approx. 59–79 dBA; optional muffler reduces noise on smaller models).
Filtration & Cold Air DistributionIncludes a 5-micron automatic drain filter/separator to remove water and dirt. For oil contamination in supply air, use a coalescing oil-removal filter. Cold-air distribution kit contains tubing, clips and fittings to route cold air to critical components.
Electronic Temperature Control (ETC)Optional digital ETC units offer precise temperature management with LED readout and thermocouple feedback; they activate the included solenoid when the setpoint is exceeded. ETCs are available for multiple voltages and are RoHS/CE compliant.
Models / Options SummaryThermostat-control series: 4304–4380 (various voltages and ETC options). Continuous-operation series: 4204–4280. Additional options include high-temperature kits, NHP, dual and side-mount kits for specialized environments.
