Overview
Cabinet Cooler® Systems cool and purge electronic control panels using compressed air and a vortex tube; the vortex tube produces cold air with no moving parts. NEMA 4X (IP66) units are dust-tight, oil-tight, splash resistant and corrosion resistant for indoor or outdoor use. NEMA 4X models include a low-pressure relief valve on the vortex tube and cabinet exhaust that closes when the cooler is off to preserve enclosure integrity. Continuous operation systems include the Cabinet Cooler, cold air distribution kit and a 5 µm automatic drain filter. Units are UL Listed and CE compliant.

Other technical information

• Operation: Compressed air enters the vortex tube-powered Cabinet Cooler® and separates into hot and cold streams. Hot air exhausts through the vortex tube exhaust (muffled); cold air is directed into the enclosure via the distribution kit, purging the cabinet without allowing outside air ingress.
• Filtration: Systems include a 5 µm automatic drain water-and-dirt filter. Add a coalescing (oil removal) filter if oil is present in the compressed air.
• Cold air distribution kit: Flexible vinyl tubing, connectors and adhesive-backed clips to route cold air to hot spots or circulate internally.
• Humidity control: In continuous operation, relative humidity inside a sealed enclosure stabilizes near 45% with no condensation.
• Inlet air & performance: Approximate 54°F (30°C) drop from supply air temperature at 100 PSIG (6.9 BAR). Higher inlet temperature or lower supply pressure reduces cooling capacity.
• Mounting: Installs through a drilled hole or standard electrical knockout. NEMA 4 and 4X units must be mounted vertically; side-mount kits are available for limited-space installations while maintaining the NEMA rating.
• Controls: Thermostat-and-solenoid options (factory thermostat set to 95°F / 35°C) or Electronic Temperature Control (ETC™) for adjustable, precise internal temperature regulation.
