JCT's vertical kneader for fiber‑resin composites uses a top‑suspended mixing shaft combined with a planetary double‑blade trajectory to enable intense kneading of high‑viscosity resins while minimizing mechanical damage to fibers. The design isolates seals and bearings above the material zone to prevent contamination and leakage into the mixture.

Performance and application
Fiber‑reinforced resin composites pair a matrix (resin, metal or ceramic) with high‑performance fibers (glass, carbon, aramid) to achieve high specific strength, stiffness and dimensional stability. Final material properties depend critically on fiber‑to‑matrix dispersion and wetting. This kneader targets industrial production of fiber‑resin composites where uniform mixing, degassing and precise temperature control are required (aerospace, electronics, advanced composites manufacturing).

Key mixing capabilities

• Effective mixing of short fibers (1–10 mm) at fiber weight ratios above 50%.
• Effective mixing of long fibers (30–50 mm) at fiber weight ratios up to ~50%.

Design advantages

• Top‑mounted agitator shaft — dynamic seals and bearings positioned above the vessel, outside the material zone, eliminating material‑zone contamination and seal/ bearing ingress into the product.
• Planetary kneading trajectory (3D shear and inter‑peeling) — two blades rotate on their own axes while orbiting the vessel center, producing intensive shearing and compression between blades and vessel wall for uniform kneading.
• Gentle on fibers (reduced breakage) — optimized blade clearance and shear levels ensure full wetting of high‑viscosity resins with fibers (including long glass/carbon fibers) while minimizing shear‑induced fiber breakage.
• High vacuum and jacketed temperature control — vessel supports high vacuum (up to approx. -0.098 MPa) for degassing and moisture removal; jacketed design allows circulation of water or oil for precise thermal management.
