Overview
The 2800XPC electric rope shovel is engineered for heavy-duty loading and continuous operation in demanding mining environments. It combines an AC electrical system with a high-capacity dipper and a design focused on cycle efficiency and durability to deliver reliable material handling at low cost per tonne.

Machine systems (descriptive)

• Crowd: Powerband V-belt drive between motor and gear case to absorb shock loads. Enclosed first and second reduction gearing for splash lubrication, simplified maintenance and extended component life. Twin-leg dipper handle with rack-and-pinion drive provides inherent stability. Spring-set air release disc brake.
• Swing: Two modular planetary gear cases transmit torque for fast cycle times. Spring-set air release disc brakes (one per motor). Splash lube filtration system.
• Propel: Propel-on-demand for rapid transition to propel mode. Two planetary gear cases independently driving sprockets. Delta drive low-tension sprocket drive with heavy-duty cast crawler shoes. Spring-set air release disc brakes (one per motor).
• Hoist: Single enclosed gear case with filtered and cooled oil plus splash lubrication. Large 56 in diameter hoist drum for extended rope bending life. Ferrule becket system and dual electric tuggers standard. Spring-set air release disc brakes (one per motor).
