OverviewGTP tungsten chemicals — Ammonium Paratungstate (APT), Ammonium Metatungstate (AMT) and tungsten oxide — are produced from secondary feedstock or virgin tungsten ore concentrates (wolframite, hubnerite, scheelite). Vertical integration and a Western supply chain enable supply security, consistent material flow and traceable quality across manufacturing stages.
Ammonium Paratungstate (APT)At GTP's USA production facility, APT has been manufactured for over 50 years using established process routes. GTP APT is supplied with very low impurity content (APT impurity level typically below 0.003%). APT is a feedstock for high-purity tungsten oxides, metal powders and carbides, and is also used as an analytical reagent.
Ammonium Metatungstate (AMT)AMT production begins from APT and requires roasting, digestion, filtration, evaporation and spray drying steps. AMT provides a water-soluble tungsten source with negligible alkali and metallic contaminants. Typical uses include feedstock for tungsten-based catalysts (oxidation, hydroxylation, hydrogenation, polymerization) and petrochemical catalyst systems.
Tungsten OxideTungsten trioxide (WO3) is a thermally stable, water-insoluble tungsten compound used in the manufacture of tungsten metal powders. GTP produces several tungsten oxide grades that differ by oxygen content; these oxides are derived from internally produced APT.
