Description

Product introduction
The ZGF split‑type DC Hipot Tester (200 kV / 300 kV / 400 kV) comprises a control main host, voltage‑doubling cylinder(s), corona ring and accessories. It performs DC high‑voltage withstand (DC hipot) tests and leakage current measurements for valve-type and ZnO lightning arresters, power transformers and high‑voltage cables (35–500 kV).

Technical characteristics and advantages
  • Stable DC output using high‑frequency voltage‑doubling or intermediate‑frequency inverter topology to minimise ripple and ensure accurate measurements.
  • Integrated protection: overvoltage, overcurrent, zero‑start/zero‑close and grounding protection for safe operation on site.
  • Split, portable design: separate control box and voltage cylinders for easier transport and on‑site deployment; some models integrate control, measurement and protection functions.

Scope of application
  • Conductivity/current reference tests of valve‑type and ZnO lightning arresters (U1mA and 0.75U1mA procedures).
  • DC withstand voltage and leakage current measurement of power transformers.
  • DC withstand voltage and leakage current tests for high‑voltage cables and accessories (35–500 kV).
  • Insulation testing of materials and components under DC stress (insulators, bushings, capacitors).

Core application scenarios
  • Insulation performance verification and field maintenance of power equipment (transformers, switchgear, etc.).
  • Acceptance and routine testing of lightning arresters and evaluation of nonlinear leakage characteristics.
  • Cable installation and commissioning tests: verification of main insulation, terminations and joints.
  • R&D and QA for insulating materials: partial discharge checks and dielectric loss assessments.
  • Special industry uses: electrified railway contact network checks and insulation verification for renewable‑energy converters (PV inverters, wind converters).

Product details
Kit includes control box, one or more voltage‑doubling cylinders, corona ring, connection leads and transportable chassis. Control box features one‑touch 0.75UDC/1 mA function for ZnO tests and a digital dial for overvoltage selection. Split construction enables flexible installation and field handling.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q: DC vs AC high‑voltage generator? A: DC provides stable direct voltage for DC withstand tests; AC provides alternating voltage and is used for different insulation assessment methods.
  • Q: Key safety precautions? A: Ensure reliable grounding, use insulating PPE (gloves, boots), maintain safe distances from HV terminals and operate under trained supervision with emergency procedures.
  • Q: How to evaluate generator quality? A: Check output stability, ripple factor, overload capacity, insulation and protection sensitivity.
  • Q: What materials can be tested? A: Plastics, rubber, ceramics, oil‑impregnated paper and HV equipment such as cables, transformers and instrument transformers.
