Environmental guidance
Environmental conditions significantly affect the choice of a waterproof micro switch. Identify contaminants, immersion liquids, and expected operating temperature range for the application. For harsh or critical environments select a sealed switch rated for the required temperature range. Note that higher-reliability micro switches can operate from approximately -54 °C to 178 °C. Applications with larger load requirements (e.g. liquid-level switches driving pumps) should use switches rated for higher currents such as 20A or 25A at 125VAC or 250VAC.
