TO-PASS™ 761 Series Telecontrol Module and 872 Series Telecontrol Controller
The compact 761 Series Telecontrol Module is used for fault detection/indication and Internet connectivity for machines and installations over a GSM network. The module can be used worldwide via an integrated quad-band GSM modem. Messages are sent via SMS, e-mail, fax or phone call. In addition, the process image can be transmitted in an adjustable cycle to a user-selected Internet address.
Using the 872 Series Telecontrol Controller, highly flexible telecontrol substations can be implemented to meet the most diverse requirements. The 872 Series features the following:

The Wireless Industrial Serial Server SW5002 is a professional gateway between TCP/IP via wireless and RS232/RS485/RS422 communications. It allows almost any serial device to be connected to a new or existing professional wireless network. SW5002 offers wireless network interface (IEEE802.11g/b, 54Mbps) and two selectable serial ports. The new isolation model SW5002-Sis(TB) has two photo-couple interfaces for RS-485 signaling connectivity.
By encapsulating serial data and transporting it over Wireless LAN; or for security requirements by WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption. SW5002 offers full-duplex, bi-directional data transmission transparent between serial port and Wireless LAN.
In industrial and manufacturing automation fields, SW5002 is used for field devices to connect Wireless LAN through TCP/IP protocol directly. It is also specially designed for conjunction with Plcs, HMIs, Bar code readers, Data Terminals, Electronic Kanbans, Shop Floor Control Systems, and Pick-to-Light systems.
Flexible configuration options enable this unit to be setup over TCP/IP by Telnet, web browser, or other utility. The XI1510-IP Access Point is dedicated for applications requiring robustness and reliability in disturbed industrial environment. It is 802.11b standard complyance (Wi-Fi). Its RJ45 connector manufacturers (10/100 Mbps)enables a wireless Ethernet connectivity between Professional pcs and Suppliers of plcs. It operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band in DSSS.
Its power feeder is done directly through the Ethernet cable in PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology avoiding thus extra cabling on the XI1510-IP. Its waterproof case allows to fix it in outdoor and the closiest as possible to the antenna for limiting cable attenuation loss.
The XI1510-IPD is equiped with 2 N-connectors for operating in diversity mode with 2 professional antennas (To suppress the reflection phenomenon). Its installation is very fast : configuration and management by Web navigator or a Windows based utility.
Regarding security, the WEP encryption can be selected as well as the MAC address filtering. It can operate under different modes : P2P bridge, multi-point, repeater, etc. Its 11 Mbps baudrate can be lowered to 5.5, 2 or 1 Mbps for increasing its sensibility.
A RSSI test function is available in standard for channel analysis. This product had been tested successfully with industrial Ethernet protocols (Schneider, Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc...). |

A standard ZigBee or 802.15.4 is an excellent choice for many low power, low data rate wireless communication applications. However, is it really for everything? There are situations where 802.11 WLAN works very well for high data rate traffic. Similarly, there are applications that require long range & more battery life. ZigBee protocols are relatively light with respect to demands on code space (32-70 KB) & have a moderate range (10-100m). These make ZigBee a good choice for Industrial & Home Networking. One of the big advantages of ZigBee is the %u201Cmesh%u201D capability. Mesh Networks allow messages to be passed from node to node such that if any of the nodes fail or drop out, the message can still reach its destination.
