The professional antenna system is essential to have the best performances from a professional transmitter and a receiver, as all technical characteristics given out from data sheets are normalized assuming an antenna impedance at 50 Ohm. Efficiency of energy radiation is directly correlated to antenna efficiency.
With limits imposed from available space, several types of antenna can be used, characterized by different levels of efficiency.
Below, antenna systems are presented, in order of increased efficiency. Details are given assuming a work frequency on 434 Mhz band. |

JB Series 30 MHz - 6 GHz:
JB Series professional antennas are compact, high-performance instruments designed for EMC emissions and immunity testing. The broadband characteristics of these antennas enable them to operate over a wide frequency range - a must for automated test environments. Innovative design and manufacturing techniques result in long-lasting strength and mechanical integrity. The result is an electrically stable measuring instrument that maintains calibration over extended use.
The antenna boom is made from a custom aluminum extrusion that reduces the number of parts at the nose. The result is a stronger, more stable feedpoint and excellent cross-polarization properties. The unique shape allows for a larger feed cable to be used, which significantly increases the maximum power rating. Dipole elements are permanently attached to the boom by an assembly technique that maintains excellent electrical characteristics for the life of the antenna.
The low-frequency wings are swept forward and turned in at the ends to reduce ground plane coupling while maintaining performance. Each wing is attached with dual compression professional fittings for true alignment. A tough powdercoat finish with UV inhibitors professional seals the aluminum structure and protects it from sunlight and moisture. |

In a HF product, the professional antenna plays an essential role: it's the most important link of the chain.
A quarter wave antenna, without its ground plan, will behave practically as a wire, but when its ground plan is sufficient, its efficiency will be maximal.
The antenna must be placed always in high position and clear from all metallic obstacles.
The antenna cable is another important element not to be neglected. Depending on the type of cable used, the loss in dB will be more or less high.
We bring you our advises for all your needs in wireless transmission and radio systems, with our product range for a variety of applications. We can also design radio systems according to your specifications.

Antenna Products - In-Building Overview
The widespread use of cellular phones and professional wireless network applications inside buildings has increased the need for antenna systems that can provide considerable gain over traditional dipole professional antennas.
Laird Technologies in-building wireless antennas are particularly applicable in environments where aesthetics and wide angle coverage are necessary for successful wireless deployment. Their surprisingly small size allow the antennas to be hidden almost anywhere, providing an invisible solution for most applications. |
|
For many years most standards called for the use of a half-wave dipole antenna set for frequencies above 80 MHz. However, to reduce test time, broadband professional antennas such as the biconical antenna and log periodic antennas began to be accepted. Broadband antennas, compared to half wave dipoles, reduce test time because the technician did not have to stop the test to adjust the dipole antenna for each frequency. A.H. Systems' 5 models of Biconical antennas operate efficiently over the frequency range of 20 MHz to 330 MHz. Suitable for FCC, MIL-STD, VDE, TEMPEST, and immunity testing, each Biconical antenna will provide reliable, repeatable measurements. see our website for more details. www.AHSystems.com

Cushcraft, a unit of Laird Technologies new variable beamwidth antenna brings the ultimate in versatility to high performance broadband wireless access antenna suite. J330114V01-AN offers 45, 60, 90 and 120 degree H-plane beamwidth adjustability in one ETSI CS2 compliant package.
Many variable beamwidth professional antennas force the user to gain access to the radome enclosure in order to make adjustments. The process is time consuming and makes testing cumbersome. Field disassembly of any high performance sector antenna also increases the risk of improper reassembly and the introduction of moisture or contaminants.
Adjustments are made to the antenna using a locking adjustment mechanism that is accessed without having to disassemble the antenna. The user makes adjustments, locks down the adjustment mechanism and the job is done. On site testing of various beamwidth options is a snap since the antenna does not have to be disassembled and reassembled with each change.

The miniature broadband active dipole receiving antenna CTS011 is a convenient alternative to a log-periodic antenna. It eliminates spatial errors introduced by large antenna and simplifies dealing with reflections and site attenuation.
CTS011 has a built-in equalizing pre-amplifier that makes its sensitivity at lower frequency ranges superior to larger passive professional antennas. Thanks to a built-in equalizing pre-amplifier the CTS011 has sensitivity comparable to a conventional log-periodic antenna. The interface module included with the antenna has a dedicated channel with over 20dB gain. This provides excellent sensitivity in a miniature size.

| These new fiber-optic professional amplifiers for mounting on Din rails (DIN/EN 50022) are distinctive thanks to their narrow housing width of just 10 mm, which permits their optimum stacking in large numbers. The devices are further distinguished by their long sensing range, which extends from 0 to > 200 mm, depending on the optical fibers used (no blind zone). The operating distance can be adjusted between 20 and 200 mm. Adjustment is effected by means of a 12-turn potentiometer with an illuminated professional scale. The devices are simple to operate and feature an excellent switch-point stability as well as a high switching frequency of 1.5 kHz. The switching output can be set to either light- or dark-On directly on the device. Besides this, these fiber-optic devices have an aditional excess light output and are largely insensitive to environmental influences (IP 64). They are available with both red light and blue light (sensing range 0 to > 100 mm, adjustable from 20 to 100 mm). In addition, the Contrinex range also includes high-performance devices with sensitivity adjustment by teach-in. |
