Overview Hydraulically operated, piston-actuated off-line surge-anticipating control valve 835-M (800 Series). The valve opens immediately in response to the pressure drop caused by abrupt pump stoppage to pre-open and dissipate the returning high-pressure wave, preventing surge. It closes smoothly and drip-tight as permitted by the relief feature to avoid closing surge, and it relieves excessive system pressure.
